Began doing my Federal 2019 taxes this eve. Got to where TT asks if I itemized my deductions for 2018. Now, why TT doesn't already know this, having imported my 2018 return, is beyond me. I thought I recalled not itemizing, but I wanted to double-check. I hit the little question mark just above the line asking if I had itemized for 2018, and it said that if the entry on Line 8 of my 2018 1040 was not $12000, to select that I had itemized. I looked at my 2018 1040 (printed out by TT), and it showed $13600 on line 8, suggesting I itemized. However, there is no 2018 Schedule A, neither in the printout I had made, nor when I opened up my saved 2018 return using the 2018 version of TT and examined all the forms that had been created.
So did I or did I not itemize for 2018? If yes, where is my 2018 Schedule A? If no, why is the entry on Line 8 of my 2018 1040 $13600, and not $12000?

You are over 65 so you got an extra amount for the Standard Deduction.
For 2018 the standard deduction amounts are:
Single 12,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind = 13,600
HOH 18,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind
Joint 24,000+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind
Married filing Separate 12,000 + 1,300 for 65 and over or blind

Thank you, but why didn't TT already know this, having imported my 2018 return, or provide this information when I hit the question mark?
