My itemized deductions are substantially higher than the standard deduction for me, but TurboTax continues to use the standard deduction. Is anybody else having this issue? Is this something that TurboTax will be updating?

It can depend on what types of itemized deductions. Some categories of itemized deductions have limitations. Are you using desktop TurboTax? If so, go to Forms Mode and look at Schedule A to see how TurboTax is handling any itemized deductions and any limitations..
That doesn't appear to be the problem, although some of my deductions are limited. Line 17 of Schedule A, after limitations, is $40K+, but what gets carried to Line 12(e) of Form 1040 is my standard deduction amount ($17,750 in my case). I'm assuming this is a glitch that will be corrected as we get closer to the filing deadline.
Thank you, by the way!

You're welcome. Keep watching this thread in case anyone else has any ideas on your issue.
Oh,by the way, TurboTax does have a screen question where one can choose to use standard deduction anyway instead of itemized deductions, but I would presume you did not choose that option. You may wish to be sure you didn't select it by mistake.
I guess it's possible that I inadvertently clicked the button you describe, but I never saw an ability to revisit it in my reviews. It may have been - OK, probably was - some other user error, but, this morning, I created a new return and re-entered all my stuff. Presto! It correctly used the itemized deductions. I've just finished and filed.
Thanks for your help!
There was a problem earlier in Charity. I think that got fixed.
I'm also currently having this issue. I have 8k in property taxes and less in sales tax. It keeps advising me it's better to claim sales tax (It isn't). It then populates $0 when I attempt to claims SALT (even though it knows I have 8k in property taxes). I'm begrudgingly using the online version as my Windows is too outdated this year for desktop.
I was baffled also by the forced standard deduction. Looking into it this morning, I found that on the Forms view Info Worksheet, Part VI-Additional Information for Your Federal Return, it had automatically checked the box to take the Standard Deduction even if it is less than Itemized Deductions. I unchecked and saved and the refund increased substantially. Hopefully, it won't try to switch it back. Not sure why someone would want to make that election but maybe there are reasons.
YOUR ARE A GENIUS!!!! I've been going over this a dozen times and couldn't figure out why Schedule A was correct but line 12e ON THE 1040 was using the Standard Deduction. I had chosen to use the larger figure but the form defaulted to the lower figure somehow. It was a nearly $3K owed difference. THANK YOU!!!!!!
The online instructions about changing back and forth from Itemized to Standard are not applicable to what we see on the screen in the Desktop version of TT.
PS I had to uncheck that box twice and click CLOSE at the bottom of the page, then run through the beginning sections a couple more times to get the change to "take."
THIS IS DEFINATELY A GLITCH FOR TT DELUXE 2025.
I am seeing this same problem - itemized deductions well in excess of $17,750, yet no Sch A is generated in forms. I also noted that when you complete deductions and it goes through its checks, on the "Your 2024 and 2025 deductions and credits" page, all the 2025 itemized deductions are listed as zero.
And as mentioned two posts up, when unchecking that box for taking the standard deduction on Part Vi of the worksheet, Sch A magically appears!
There is still a problem with Charity, listing as "Available Now" on the main Deductions page, rather than totaling the amounts entered.
Thanks to another poster, I learned the issue could be corrected in the worksheets where the box to use the Standard Deduction- even if it is the smaller amount (than Itemized)- should be used. It took me 2 times of unchecking the box and closing (choose Close at bottom of the worksheet), then closing TT and restarting to get the change to take effect. It was a $3K difference in Federal Taxes owed!!!! The TT instructions to switch between Itemized and Standard are outdated - the steps aren’t even available through the interview questions to try. I did send in feedback about it after I filed.
RE: Itemized vs Standard Deduction
This was the other posters’ description of the fix that worked for me,
“I was baffled also by the forced standard deduction. Looking into it this morning, I found that on the Forms view Info Worksheet, Part VI-Additional Information for Your Federal Return, it had automatically checked the box to take the Standard Deduction even if it is less than Itemized Deductions. On Turbotax H&B for Mac: go to "search topics" the "EasyStep" menu and enter "itemized deductions" and you'll get an option for "itemized deductions, choosing." This will take you to a window showing your itemized deductions in comparison with the standard deduction and will also allow you to "change your deduction."
Thank you for your posting. I was having the same issue. As you suggested, I went to Part VI - Additional Information for your federal return and noticed that this box was checked: 'check this box to take the standard deduction even if less than itemized deductions.' I would not have checked that box, so maybe it's a glitch in Turbo Tax software. Thanks again!
