Standard deduction for married filing jointly with one dependent child

The 2016 Standard Deduction for a Married Filing Joint return is $12,600. If you are claiming a child then you may qualify for additional Credits however your Standard Deduction amount won't change.

$6,300 for Single
$12,600 for Married Filing Jointly, or Qualifying Widow(er) with dependent child

The standard deduction is not affected by how many dependents you have, only your age, blindness, and filing status
