No, unless this was self-employment income where the filing threshold is $400, you do not need to file a tax return.

The 2018 filing threshold is $10,400 for single filers and higher if married.

So, since I made over $400.00, as a freelancer, I do have to file?

Yes, you should. I would use Free File Edition so you don't pay anything for filing. Follow this link: http://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/.
