What will the standard deduction be 2018, married filing joint?
The standard deduction amounts for tax year 2018 (filed in 2019) will increase to:
$12,000 for individuals and for married filing separately
$18,000 for heads of household, and
$24,000 for married couples filing jointly and surviving spouses.

So, if I itemize, I really don't get a personal exemption for my husband and myself. If I take the standard deduction, it is included. Correct?
