Since I can pay my taxes due through the turbotax software, can I also pay estimated future taxes periodically through the software?

No, TurboTax is not set up to handle payment of your estimated taxes but the following TurboTax FAQ explains how to submit your estimated tax payments to IRS. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301258
