Signing a return for incapacitated family member

Last year we electronically filed my mother-in-law's 1040-SR using TurboTax.  My wife as POA electronically signed using her information, e.g. drivers' license number. We had already filed a form 2848 along with the POA with the IRS.

My question is what do we need to do for electronically filing the 2023 return?  I assume we will complete the return using TurboTax and my wife electronically sign the return using her information as we did for the 2022 return, but will I need to mail in another 2848 and mail it with a form 8453 after the return is accepted?  We received a CAF number after filing the 2848 last year so I know the information was received by the IRS.  The 2848 last year covered periods through 2025 and included the authorization to sign on line 5a of form 2848.

Just trying to get straight to get the filing requirements done correctly.

You do not need to file another Form 2848 if the previous one covers periods through 2025.  That will be in place through tax year 2025, so you have a couple more years before you need to complete and file another one.  You wife just needs to file the same way she did last year.
