Signature to efile for deceased

Greetings,

As executor of my father's estate, I am filing (trying to efile) his 2023 tax return (owes-no refund).  When I get to signing the return, it is populating it with his date of birth then it wants a state id/driver license number and to confirm his AGI for last year.  When looking to the IRS, they say "When e-filing, the surviving spouse or representative should follow the directions provided by the software for the correct signature and notation requirements."

I'm not seeing this information in turbotax.  How do I proceed with this?  It does indicate at the top of the 1040 that he is deceased.

thanks

Mike

Signature to efile for deceased

If you indicated that you are preparing the return for a deceased person in TurboTax, you should be able to Efile, as long as the Social Security Administration has been notified of the death.

This question comes up in the interview in the MY INFO section.

Since there is no refund, you won't be asked to file Form 1310.

Here's more info on Filing for a Deceased Person.

Sorry for your loss.
