Should i receive all tax paid if total income is under $10,000 for a single filer (federal)?
Yes, if you file as Single, are not a dependent of another taxpayer and have employment income under $10,000, then your standard deduction of $6,350 and your personal exemption of $4,050 will reduce your taxable income to 0, and you will receive a full refund of all federal and state taxes withheld.
However, if you are a dependent, you do not have your personal exemption of $4,050 and would have some taxable income. In this case, you will not receive a full refund of taxes withheld.
