You could file as Head of Household since you have lived apart from your spouse for longer than the last six months of 2025 and are the custodial parent of the children.

Am I Head of Household?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

If you have children living with you since your husband left, you might consider filing separately. Make that selection as you begin your tax return and TurboTax will guide you through the questions to determine if you qualify for Head of Household.

If you don't qualify you have the option of filing separately or jointly. You can also create additional TurboTax accounts to see the results as married filing separate or married filing joint. If you do not have your husbands information, it would be difficult to file jointly.
