I'm also not fond of this ridiculous "help" form that's clearly designed to prevent me from asking or voicing my opinion.

Yeah, price increases are a fact of life and sometimes tough to stomach.
But $35 (now) for Online Deluxe and $37 of the added state isn't that much different from last year (prices may rise in mid-Feb-midMarch....not known when). Maybe last year it $30 and $35 at this time of year.
OF course, big fees accrue if you add-on MAX or decide to pay your software fees with your Federal refund...then you get hit with another ~$70....but that's pretty much the same as last year. The Refund transfer fee is avoided by actually paying with a credit card, and the MAX fee probably isn't needed for longtime users since you know how it all works anyhow.

IF you also happen to have a WIndows 7 (or higher) or MAC (10.9 or higher), the Desktop download includes one state for $60 is a better deal....(though the state efile costs $25, you could mail it in for free)....and you can prepare as many different test tax returns as you want to...or prepare and e-file up to 5 for family members. (Amazon has the download at $40....but be careful NOT to select the $30 Deluxe download that does NOT have one state included)
