Self employed income >$600 from individual sources that didn't provide 1099's.

I have 3 separate entities that I received payments in excess of $1,000 that did not give me 1099's.  How should I report this in my return?

Self employed income >$600 from individual sources that didn't provide 1099's.

You can enter your self-employed income/expenses for Schedule C without a 1099 by following the instructions below -

  • Log into your account and click Take Me To My Return (you must click this before searching if you are not already in your account or you won't get the jump to link below)
  • Type “Schedule C" in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass
  • Click the "jump to schedule c" ink in the search results.
  • You will arrive at the Your Business summary page where you can add a business (you may need to establish a business profile first)
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your business income and expenses
Then to enter business income not on a 1099-MISC - 

  • Click Start/Update next to Business Income 
  • Click State/Update next to General Income
  • The next page should be Tell us about additional income - you can enter income not designated on a 1099-MISC here (such as cash and checks)
  • You can enter three different entries or add them all together
