Is this for a 1099-DA?
Currently, TurboTax supports the manual entry of IRS Form 1099-DA. We are in the process of enhancing our CSV import and upload features to make this process more seamless.
Timeline: We expect the new CSV import functionality to be available soon. Please note that this is an estimated target as we finalize the experience.
If you are ready to file now, you can still enter your information manually. Otherwise, thank you for your patience while we get these automated tools ready for you!
It gives the option to import, takes userId and password and connect to Robinhood, but comes back with no account found. I have over 300 transactions in there, it will take hours if not days to enter the information. The reason I took premier is to solve this problem.
I have downloaded the CSV, I am using Desktop version of Turbotax premier. Can you let me know when this will be available.
When entering your transactions, you do not have to enter all of them, you can use your summary of transactions separated by the short term and long term holdings based on how long you have held the investments. This is acceptable to the IRS and you have the detail to keep with your tax return files should they request them.
i ended up downloading the pdf and doing an import that way, i had to do a number of corrections for the “Various” date issue but overall it worked fine.. hoping by next year the regular import method will work
I have problem to import 1099-DA from Robinhood. Also there is no coinbase to select from.
A solution can be to enter summary transactions if you have many transactions. Your brokerage statements should include a summary of your transactions, grouped by sales category, for example, Box A short-term covered or Box D long-term covered.
Holding Periods:
You can always use direct entry if you choose, with summary totals. The only exception is wash sales, which must be entered separately, if you have any.
