Rental Property Depreciation in the desktop version of Premier not working

TurboTax Premier is not calculating depreciation for my rental property.  I imported my 2024 file, which has the depreciation information, but the depreciation value is not appearing on my Schedule E.

I read that there was a bug that got fixed, so I did a check for updates today (3/3/2026) and my software is supposedly up-to-date.  I did the update before I imported.

The rental property depreciation area is available. You'll navigate to the rental property section and add an asset to claim depreciation.

Please clear out your stored  cache and cookies if you are using TurboTax Online or update your software if using Desktop if you still do not see the input area.

Verify that the assets you imported from 2024 are appearing.  Go to Rental Properties and Royalties > Edit your property > Assets (Depreciation). Each building/improvement should appear with method (MACRS), life (27.5 yrs for residential), and placed‑in‑service date. If assets aren’t listed, use Add an asset and link to this rental.

I updated my desktop Software (again) and started a new tax return in the hopes that my 2024 rental property and all associated depreciation information would be imported.

It was not.

I did the "Add an Asset" step and had to re-enter the condo rental property info (date purchased, amount, date placed in service, percent of use (I think that was all).  This produced the desired depreciation information.

My complaint is that I have never had to do this with Turbax. It would automatically import it all for me.  I found all of the needed information from old files, but it was time-consuming and aggravating.  Rental property handling was probably the most compelling reason that I purchased TurboTax in the past, so it was really disappointing to have this feature fail.

Is the broken import problem thought to be fixed? I would like to know if it is before I decide to purchase TurboTax in the future.

If you used TurboTax Online, and are starting a 2025 return with the same account, your 2024 file will import automatically.

If you're using TurboTax Desktop, search your computer for a .tax2024 file when starting a 2025 return to transfer into your new return.

I did.  All of my 2024 data was imported (personal info, previous W-2s, 1099-INTs, etc.), but not my rental property information.
