Rejected Amended Federal Return

• I amended my 2024 tax return to change the filing status from "married filing separately" to "married filing joint" and my state went through no problem but my federal amended return got rejected and the tax home page does NOT give any option to "fix" it. I amended it again and ensured everything was correct. It got rejected again. Turbo tax is not giving me any reason or any way to fix or resolve this issue and even after calling the irs directly and turbotax help line, my return is "not found". I just want to know the issue so it can get accepted. Please help.

Since you are amending to include your spouse, make sure you have entered your spouse's Social Security number or Individual Tax Identification number correctly.  You may also need to review the prior year AGI number to ensure it matches.  You can also try entering zero if you filed separately in 2023.

If these do not assist, you may need to mail your amended return in.
