Dear TurboTax Support Team,
I am writing to formally dispute a charge of $84.43 for the TurboTax Premier online version, which I was required to purchase but was ultimately unable to use due to technical issues. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter with your customer support team, my refund request has been denied.
Summary of the Issue:
- On February 19, 2025, I spent over one hour on the phone with TurboTax support attempting to resolve an issue that prevented me from e-filing my taxes.
- On February 20, 2025, I spent another 40+ minutes with support and was advised to downgrade to a lower version, but the software would not allow it.
- I was required to pay for the online version before attempting to e-file, yet the issue persisted, and I was still unable to file.
- I requested a refund and an escalation, and was assured I would receive a follow-up call, but no call was ever made.
- Despite TurboTax’s failure to provide a working product, I was charged $84.43 and denied a refund.
Request for Resolution:
Given that TurboTax did not deliver a functional product or service, I formally request a full refund of $84.43. I have made reasonable attempts to resolve this issue through customer support, and since I was unable to e-file, I should not be required to pay for a service that did not work.
If my refund is not processed promptly, I will have no choice but to dispute this charge with my financial institution and escalate my complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and my State Attorney General’s Office.
Please process my refund as soon as possible. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response.
