Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

You have both my 2019 and 2018 W-2s added together as one return. Instead of filling 2018 and then 2019. You said you would file my 2018 if I had not filed yet. Then 2019

no no no.     you entered your 2018 w-2's in your 2019 return.  TT is a self prepared tax return system so other than computational errors any error you made was through your doing.   2018 can not be prepared online or efiled.  you'll ned desktop software to prepare it and then need to mail it in.  TT does not mail returns for any user of its software.    never has.    can you provide a link to where you saw TT would file 2018 for you?

Sounds like you had a big misunderstanding.   The income from two different years cannot be combined on one tax return.  Each year has to be prepared separately using the forms and software for the specific tax year.

Did you enter it all using the current online program?  Online is only for 2019--no other year.  Only a 2019 return can be e-filed.  Earlier years cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.

If you have not e-filed that incorrect return yet, delete the 2018 information and just keep the 2019 income on it.  When you try to e-file it, use "zero" for the 2018 AGI it will ask you for.  If zero will not allow it to be e-filed you will have to print, sign and mail 2019.

If you did e-file that "combination" return, tell us the status.  Hopefully it would be rejected so you can fix your mistake and remove the 2018 data and re-file.  If it somehow slipped through and got accepted, you have a bigger problem that will involve preparing an amended return in the future.

Post back and tell us what happened with the return.

As for your 2018 return:

Online preparation and e-filing for 2018 is permanently closed.

To file a return for a prior tax year

If you need to prepare a return for 2016, 2017, or 2018 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.
