Tax Year Prior to 2020: Why my federal return amount got changed

my federal return shows that 1937$ but the status says that my refund amount got changed by IRS and it sh ould be 1504$ only. Why this change then why the Turbotax showed me 1937 was my federal return?

TurboTax calculates the amount of your refund, or additional taxes owed based on the information that you entered into the program. When the IRS and/or your state receives the returns, the compare what is on the return to what they have in their system for you.

When they make adjustments to your return it is to account for the difference in what was reported on the return and what they are showing in their system.

You can call the IRS and speak to a tax representative about what was changed on the return and why.

Did you have the fees for our service come out of your refund or did you pay before you filed? If using your refund, Santa Barbara handles all financial things related to tax returns as we are not allowed to handle money.  800-717-7228
