.  you will be unable to file if a required form has not been updated from 2018 to 2019.  TT can't update forms until IRS releases current year version.  if you are getting an error message or code , what is it?  maybe we can help.     by the way even if you do file now, IRS has not opened e-filing though returns can be submitted .  they will sit on IRS servers unprocessed until the IRS is ready which probably won't be until mid-January at the earliest.    last year many posts about taxpayers who submitted early or on first day having delays in getting their return processed.
