Why can't I file my federal return by efile and mail my state return in myself?

I paid $40 for Turbo Tax Deluxe and then had to pay $25 more to file my state return because it would let me file it myself, by mail.  I don't understand this, why do they both have to be efiled through Turbo Tax.  The thing that bugged me most is I am only getting a $3 refund from state, but I had to pay you all $24.99 to efile it.  That is not right.  For what I had to spend this year for Turbo Tax I could of had a local accountant do it for me.  I am dis-satisfied with Turbo Tax after using it for approximately 10 years.  You may have lost a customer.

I have been doing just that for the past 5 years and have never had a problem!

Addition to my last post.  I am using Premier version if that makes any difference.  I am becoming dissatisfied with TT as every year it seem to get a little more confusing.  Questions are becoming more vague and I feel I'm losing control.

You can file your state tax return by mail.  In the filing section select the option to print and mail the state return.
