Where the HECK does Form 1099-Q line 2c/2d come from?

Where the heck do Form 1099-Q lines 2c/2d come from?  Neither double-clicking nor right-clicking reveals the source of that data, so I may have to override them.

We have two children in college and are paying some of both of their bills using a 529 plan.  For one child, the Form 1099-Q automatically fills in that ALL of their 529 distributions are Qualified eduction expenses, and for the other one, it says that NONE of their 529 distributions are Qualified (but they ARE Qualified). I can't see any difference in the two forms.  The difference narrows down to how TurboTax is filling in 1099-Q Lines 2c/2d and I canNOT figure out why there is ANY difference...

It will depend on where the qualified education expenses were entered in the rest of the Education section. I recommend running through where the first child's entries were made to compare it to how the 2nd child's entries were reported to determine how to correct it.

Please double check that each Form 1099-Q is going to the individual children and not two Forms 1099-Q to one of the children.

Where the HECK does Form 1099-Q line 2c/2d come from?

I'm having the identical problem as the first person - my older daughter's 1099-Q is correct, but my younger daughter's 1099-Q has incorrect values in the lines 2b and 2c - and there is no explanation as to how the numbers are calculated.  I deleted all of the younger daughter's information and started over, with no joy.

Is there a limitation due to income for claiming all of the educational expenses?

OK -fixed it.  Last year, the younger daughter was in high school and then went on to college - so I checked both the high school and college selections - which appears to mess up the program.  Going back and only checking the college selection resulted in the correct entries on the student worksheet.

Please fix the program!
