Box 16 of my W2 shows a negative number. Why and What do I do?

That's a mistake. You don't make negative state wages on a W2. It's probably a payroll mistake; contact them to reissue.

Due to a payroll system error, my employer flagged me as living in two states, D.C. and VA. I only live in VA. They corrected my w2 and the tax I paid erroneously now is negative in line 16. Turbo Tax does not allow for negative numbers on line 16? Frustrating.
