Tax year for my ISO stock sale

Hello,

I sold a portion of my ISO stocks in private market in 2019. The contract with the buyer has the date as 30 Dec 2018 but the sale got approved by my company around Feb 2019 and I got the money in last week of Feb 2019. I'm wondering if this income would be taxable in 2019 or should I have paid tax in 2018 as the contract is dated for 2018.

Tax year for my ISO stock sale

Income should be reported in the tax year in which it was received. As this was a transaction that occurred in 2019, it should be reported on your 2019 tax return. Information on the reporting of Incentive Stock Options can be found in the link below:
