Tax refund unexpectedly high

Hello.

I was entering in my and my husband's W-2s, and our refund shot up after inputting them. The strange thing was that at least on a couple W2s, the box for federal income withholding was 0 (though some other things had been taken out, like for Social Security, etc.), so I wasn't sure how we could be getting a refund back from that in the first place. And I think the refund exceeded the amount that had originally been taken out, which was also puzzling to me. Does our TurboTax have a problem, or does this sound like a plausible scenario?

Thanks in advance!

Mary

You may have received one or more refundable credits, such as EIC.  But also check your data entry for any typos, especially commas and decimals.
