Should I pay my estimated tax?

I started my self employment in July 2021. No previuos work in US and I have not filed any tax return yet. I was told that I can choose not to pay my estimated taxes this year. Do I really can do that and pay all my taxes with my anual tax return instead?

Should I pay my estimated tax?

IRS says:

"You don’t have to pay estimated tax for the current year if you meet all three of the following conditions.

  • You had no tax liability for the prior year
  • You were a U.S. citizen or resident for the whole year
  • Your prior tax year covered a 12-month period

You had no tax liability for the prior year if your total tax was zero or you didn’t have to file an income tax return. "

I suspect  you don't meet all three conditions. namely, the second one.

When it is time to prepare 2021 tax returns :

NON RESIDENT ALIEN

If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax.  You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:
