Can I claim preschool tuition? How and where to file?

Can I claim preschool tuition for tax deduction?

How and where do I file this?

The school year starts August 2018 and ends May 2019. How do I breakdown the tuition from the previous tax year if I paid full last year (2018)?

Thank you.

I work for a nonprofit full time but work from home (remotely) in my home office. My daughter attends preschool several times a week so that I can work full time. Is this tax deductible? If so, how do I claim it properly?

Thanks!

Yes.  The child care credit is available for parents who work and have earned income and preschool is a qualifying form of childcare.

Under the Deductions & Credits Tab of your TurboTax Return, choose Child and Dependent Care Credit and answer the questions in that section completely.

The amount of credit will be limited as a percentage of earned income.

Here is a link that provides more details about the deduction;  Child and Dependent Care Credit
