My state return shows an amount taxed by NY that is more than AGI. It shows: Amount we start with 17k then minus standard deduction -8k then amount taxed by NY: 19k ??

My state return shows an amount taxed by NY that is more than AGI. It shows: Amount we start with 17k then minus standard deduction -8k then amount taxed by NY: 19k ??

New York does not allow for the federal unemployment exemption of up to $10,200 or the $300 charitable cash contribution deduction. Both of those are added back into NY AGI.
