Morgage Interest not being deducted when filing Itemized deductions

When I select "Itemized Deductions" and look at the summary, Mortgage Interest is at zero. The home is less them $300,000 and we are filing married/joint. This is our primary residence. We are not using Standard Deduction. Why isn't the mortgage interest being credited?

not enough information provided to answer the question

can we assume this is a first mortgage used to acquire the home or if you refinanced, there was no cash out?

please go to Form View and open up Schedule A.  Do you see the interest on Line 8?  yes or no?

please go to Forms View and open up "tax & int wks'.   Do you see the interest on the bottom half of this sheet? yes or no.

please go to Forms View and open up 'home int wks'.  Review any number and the answers to the questions.  does any thing look odd?

please post your responses!

The program should have asked if it was a refinanced loan, and if you answered "Yes" it would have asked what you did with the money.

Be sure to answer that it was used on the home if that is the case.

If you need to go back and edit, it's easier to delete the original 1098 and reenter it.
