Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

It says “ready to mail” tax returns etc. was I supposed to mail my tax returns to the IRS? I thought doing it on here would mean it was already electronically submitted ?

You need to Select to E-file your return in order to send it electronically, otherwise you need to mail it in.

Since you didn't mail the return yet you can change the filing method to e-file.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Select Add a state (you won't add a state;just to open the return).
  3. Select File from the left menu and go to step 3.
  4. Select to e-file the return.

If e-filing is not an option, you might have some forms or schedule included in your return that can't be e-filed. In that case your return can't be e-filed and you need to mail it in.
