If i used the free edition then why did turbo tax charge me over $100 to file my taxes?

You are posting from TurboTax Deluxe which is not free. You apparently started from the wrong version or mistakenly upgraded to Deluxe while preparing your return. The online Deluxe is $39, the state is $39, and if you paid your fees from your refund that is another $39 for paying it that way.
