I received form 1099-INT, where do if enter the information on my return?

1099-INT is a form you receive when you have interest that you earned, from a bank, the IRS etc.  

 

To enter your form:

 

Form 1099-INT reports interest from banks, brokerages, and other financial institutions. Here's how to enter a 1099-INT:

  1. Open (continue) your return if it's not already open.
  2. Inside TurboTax, search for 1099-INT and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you receive any interest income?
    • If you see Here's the interest we have so far, select Add interest income.
  4. On the following screen, select how you want to enter your 1099-INT (import or type it in yourself) and follow the on-screen instructions.

I received form 1099-INT, where do if enter the information on my return?

It is for interest received.  If from the IRS for a delayed tax refund you enter it on a Form 1099-INT in the TurboTax program.

 

To report interest income received -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home & Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on
  • Under Interest and Dividends
  • On Interest on 1099-INT, click on the start or update button

Or enter interest income in the Search box locate in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to interest income
