I just purchased tax filing software (home and business) for 2020 thinking it was for 2019.  I need to file my federal and state taxes for 2019.  How do I get this rectified?

If you do not need the 2020 software -

Go to this TurboTax website to request a refund for the software purchased from TurboTax - https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/forms/refund-request.jsp
Use this TurboTax website to check your orders and payments -

To complete and file a 2019 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2019 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2019 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Sadly you cannot just get this switched ... you have to put in for a refund then purchase the correct tax year ...  but let me tell you a secret ... you can just purchase the 2019 Deluxe program since it has ALL the same forms as the more expensive H&B version so you can save some money.
