I got an email that said my tax return had been "rejected," why?

I still don't understand why I got an email saying my tax return was rejected.

Common reasons are for a duplicate ssn or the wrong 2018 AGI.

For Duplicate ssn......It could be if you signed up on the IRS non-filer tool to give the IRS your Direct Deposit Info for the Stimulus Check.  If you did then see

If your spouse died during 2019 there is a problem efiling and you will have to mail your return

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
