I filed taxes before the tax relief for unemployment was announced. I also owed premium tax credit for Health Insurance before that was waived. Can I expect this $ back?

Basically I owed money, and I’m wondering if I will be getting that back and if certain states aren’t allowing it?

This is useful information! However my state I clicked on said “your state included the changes when you filed”. But I know I filed before the new act was put into place so it couldn’t have included the changes. I’m still a little unclear if I will get money back or need to do anything!

You do not need to do anything for your federal return as the IRS at this point as the IRS has requested that taxpayer not amend their returns yet for this change.

Please see the link below for more details.

Reconciling premium tax credit

As for your state return, whether you need to amend or not is dependent upon the state you reside in.  If based upon the link provided by ee-ea above, your state indicated the changes were already included when you filed, your state return would not have been affected by the changes and you would not need to amend your state return.
