I did not receive my full return. Already subtracted the fees and I’m still missing money. Haven’t received any letter saying my return was reduced. Anyone else have this problem using Turbo

There can be a number of reasons why your refund was less than the amount you expected. TurboTax does not receive feedback from the IRS regarding money that was offset from your refund.  If you owed back taxes, child support, student loan debt, etc. you will receive a letter of explanation from the IRS in several weeks.  The WMR site will contain a message regarding your offset.  It is also possible that the IRS caught a mistake you made and reduced your refund.

I called the irs they sent the exact amount that my taxes say over to turbo. The bank isn’t holding my money. Turbo is

Hello, How did you get this resolved because the same thing is happening to me! My federal refund amount doesn’t reflect what the IRS has confirmed they sent me; I have the name and badge number of specialists so I know he wasn’t lying about the amount. I have called IRS and confirmed my actual/correct amount. The amount I received and the the amount IRS has confirmed doesn’t add up. I have already calculated/subtracted the fees and everything. Does TurboTax take peoples money without their consent? I’m miss a lot of money, my next act is a lawsuit if money don’t come.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

First of all, that number doesn’t work. I’ve trying to contact that number for 14 days now and haven’t been able to speak to a single live person. I find it irritating that a company big as turbo tax would have such a messed up system collecting people’s money without their knowledge. All I know is, I’m never using Turbo Tax ever again and would never recommend them to anyone after this service. It’s almost as if there are not responsible and don’t want to take any accountability for the act.

@Jeannettablunt Once your returns are accepted by the IRS, TurboTax no longer receives any updates on them. Other missing dollar amounts may be caused by a refund offset. This is when the government applies part or all of a taxpayer's refund towards the taxpayer's past-due income tax, child or spousal support, student loans, or state unemployment compensation debts.

The IRS can also adjust your tax return for data entry errors, income that you forgot to claim, etc.

@23DuranFam You will get a notice in the mail from the IRS if they reduced your refund. It always comes after the refund is issued, so it may be on the way to you.

I am miss over 5,000.$ I do not owe any dues to the state. My refund could not be that far off - im sure!. 

What can I do?
