I claimed all the income on our 1099 form for jointly owned account, what does he file now?

We are unmarried but have both names and SS#s on the account. I just did my taxes and without thinking, put the entire sum of the net gains and losses on my tax return, instead of the recommended 50/50. My tax return was already processed and accepted. Do I need to amend my taxes? Can we just split it 100/0 and he files $0 for his 1099?

Which of the nearly two dozen kinds of 1099's are you asking about?

he'll want to leave Schedule D off his return.

Since you filed the gains under one of the two SSNs, there should not be an issue.
