I amended my return. I then immediately amended it back to the original that I already filed. Do I need to mail in both amended returns, the most recent one, or none?

If your amended return is exactly the same as your original return.... there is no need to file the amended return.

Even if there were 2 amended returns?  The second one was just to get it back to the original. Also, if I don't mail anything to the IRS, was anything really amended, as far as they are concerned?

You are correct.  If you have not printed, signed and mailed in an amended return then no amendments have been completed.  Right now since you have changed everything back to the original return, then your TurboTax return still should match what the IRS has and is processing.
