There are no second extensions. Complete and file your tax return with the information you have. After you receive the tax data currently missing then file an amended tax return. The amended return should only be started after you have received the tax refund or the taxes owed and paid have been processed.
Amended tax returns can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS. The IRS will take up to 4 months to process the amended tax return.
There are no more extensions. If you do not meet the October 15, 2019 deadline you are just late.
1099's of whatever sort (there are over two dozen kinds) were issued in January. Not sure why you do not have what you need. If it is a 1099Misc you have to get it from the individual or business that issued it. If it was issued by a bank, brokerage, or other financial institution -- which many 1099's are -- then contact them for it.
Your extension gave you extra time to prepare your 2018 tax return documents. It did not give you extra time to pay. If you did not pay your estimated 2018 tax due by April 15, 2019 then when the IRS receives your 2018 return and your payment, they will calculate your penalty/interest and bill you later. TurboTax will not calculate the penalty or interest.
You have until October 15, 2019 to e-file your 2018 tax return. After that, e-filing for 2018 will be shutting down, and a 2018 return will have to be printed, signed and mailed instead. The online software will also be shutting down, so if you are not finished preparing your 2018 return by then, you will have to download desktop software to a full PC or Mac to finish the return.
When you requested your extension you were supposed to pay your estimated tax due. Did you enter the payment you made into your tax return? Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes This will show up on line 17 of your Form 1040
What kind of 1099? If it's a 1099Misc you don't need it. You can report (and should) the income from your own records. If it's for self employment income just report it as cash or General income. Only the total goes to schedule C and is not broken out by 1099Misc.
You do not need the form to file the return, just the information. If you happen to know that, just input it as income indicating the type of income it is. You can fill out a 1099 in Turbo Tax using the information that you know. If you don't know the exact amounts, estimate based on what you have such as bank or other financial account statements, or documents you have in hand. if you don't have documents, contact the person or company that should have given you the 1099 and get that information over the phone immediately since the filing deadline is tomorrow. Ask them to follow up by mailing or faxing you the documents you need. If there is a significant difference in the return you file by the extension and what you discover after October 15th, you can submit an amended return and pay the difference or claim a refund. You can prepare an amended return with Turbo Tax or manually, but in either case, you must file a paper amended return and mail it in.
If it's any other kind of 1099 not a 1099Misc you need the actual form, actual amounts and for a 1099R the special codes. Some 1099 you won't get if it's under a minimum amount.
So tell us what kind of 1099. 1099Misc, 1099R, 1099B, 1099Int, etc. Or who it's from and why you need it.
