How do i opt out of the deluxe option.

If you are referring to downgrade to the Free edition, here are the steps:

1. Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off

2.  To your left, select Tools, click on the drop-down menu

3. Select Clear and Start Over

Note

Whether you are a returned or new customer, very likely your situation in 2019 is not supported by the tax forms in the TurboTax Free Edition.  Especially with the new tax law reform, Tax Cut and Job Acts TCJA, you might need to use new tax forms to claim the same deductions, credits, or forms of income. Some of the situations have been transformed into TurboTax Deluxe and TurboTax Live Deluxe, instead of in Free Edition.  For more information, click here:   Deluxe edition

Depending on what your tax situation was last year, you might need to use new tax forms to claim the same deductions, credits, or forms of income.  Some of the situations that are now in TurboTax Deluxe and TurboTax Live Deluxe, instead of in Free Edition, include:

Go here for more info on which forms are included in TurboTax Free Edition.
