How do I establish my move date?

My husband and I moved from NYC to Florida. He moved one month before I did. There are no state taxes in Florida. He started to earn income in Florida immediately. He continued to receive income from NY employer for about 2 while in Florida. I initially put his 'move date' in Turbo tax as one month prior to my move date. Turbo tax does not allow me to E-file my NY return because we have different move dates. Is it appropriate to put the same move date for both of us (my move date) since there are no state income tax in Florida?

Yes, that would be fine. The main issue is allocating the amount of income properly.

Even as a Florida resident with no state income tax, New York will tax the income if it was derived from New York sources.
