I filed my 2021 tax returns using turbo tax. However, it is being rejected. The reason provided is last year's, ie, 2020 AGI does not match. I have verified my previous AGI. However, I am still having the same issue. Any idea on what else could be going wrong?

try using zero for agi
did that work?
Using 0 did not work out. Any other suggestions or recommendations?
Do you see this happening often?
@neeraj _ wouldn't know, but I do know that over 95% of returns are filing electronically.
what is the error message you get?
"IRS couldnt confirm my identity
AGI amount entered into TurboTax before filing didnt match what the IRS has in their database. "
I checked AGI amount that I've entered. It looks correct. I verified it against the number irs.gov has as well.
@neeraj if nothing works, then the only option is paper filing.... and to set expectations....the IRS is woefully backlogged and paper filing will take 6-9 months......
Thanks for that info about paper filing. That does not sound good.
Should I look for tax advisor help on Turbo Tax?
@neeraj Rejections come from the IRS--not TurboTax. A "TurboTax advisor" does not have the ability to override a rejection or "make" the IRS accept your e-file.
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
