Even though you have no tax liability you should file to receive any stimulus payments.

Q. Do I need to file an income tax if I receive Veteran disability payments and utilize the GI Bill for college?

A. Normally, no. Neither VA disability or education benefits are taxable, or even reportable. But, for 2020 and 2021, there are Covid stimulus/recovery rebate credit payments available. If you missed any stimulus payments,* you can still get them, in the form of "recovery rebate credit" by filing a tax return.  You are not eligible, for the stimulus or credit, if you can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.

*2020 stimulus: $1200 + $600 = $1800 Total

2021 stimulus: $1400
