To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

If you have a tax refund the websites for checking the status of the tax refunds are the same whether you have e-filed or printed and mailed the tax return.

If you did not use some type of tracking service from the US Post Office when the tax returns were mailed then you will not know if the IRS or your State received the tax returns.

TurboTax would have no way to know the status of a mailed tax return.

The IRS is not processing any paper tax returns for quite some time due to the pandemic.

Go to this IRS website for information - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue

The IRS is not currently able to process individual paper tax returns. If you already have filed via paper but it has not yet been processed, do not file a second tax return or write to the IRS to inquire about the status of your return or your Economic Impact Payment. Paper returns will be processed   once processing centers are able to reopen.
