Audit Defense automatically charged for $45.-

I've used TurboTax since 1991 and have the desktop 2025 version for PC.

Every time I file electronically, the Audit Defense is automatically added for $45.00 without my requesting it. I've tried the following to no avail:

1. I pay with a credit card.

2. I've gone to the Review tab, there is no "no thanks" option.

3. I've clicked on the button "remove" Audit Defense during the payment process.

4. I used 2 different laptops and downloaded the latest TurboTax updates.

5. I had a rep on the phone who saw my screen and informed me TurboTax is aware of the situation and will NOT charge the additional $45.00

6. 4 Days passed, TurboTax did NOT reimburse the $45.00 and now that I'm on the verge of uploading a second electronic filing, the same issue remains: automatically adds $45.00 for Audit Defense despite my going through all above mentioned attempts to avoid c.q. delete c.q. bypass this unwanted charge.

I have been a TurboTax desktop user for 30+ years and never had this problem.

The only way for you to get reimbursed or get the charge cancelled is to contact TurboTax support.

You will need to contact TurboTax support for the problem. Use the key words Billing Issue

Use this phone number and select TurboTax - 1-800-4-INTUIT (1-800-446-8848)

Thank you, I've already contacted TurboTax and we figured it out: software purchased through Costco appears to have this problem. The software purchased from Intuit directly does not have this automated Audit Defense charge.
