Are "PLUS" and Deluxe two different version of preparing my taxes, or is the cost of PLUS added to the cost of Deluxe?

I've used Deluxe other years and started with that, but just cleared everything out to start over again.  Not sure if I'll be itemizing this year or not.  I don't get what the difference is and am not sure if this means I'd be paying TurboTax less or more by going with PLUS.

What constitutes a "simple" tax return?  I have HSA contributions and distributions as well as IRA contributions (both Roth and Simple) but no IRA distributions, so I'm not sure how much IRA info needs to be listed--just Roth contributions?

Does the Plus allow for itemizing, which I'm not sure if I need to do yet or not?

The information that you can enter in Free Edition is pretty limited now.  Thanks to the new tax laws, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's.  Everything goes on a little Form 1040 that has three  extra "schedules" with it, and if you need any of those schedules, you are not able to use the Free Edition.

If you have IRS contributions, you  itemize   and HSA anything that will require an upgrade to Deluxe.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for the reason for upgrading from the Free edition -https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2575733-why-do-i-have-to-upgrade-from-free-edition

If your income is $69K or less the IRS FREE FILE option may be for you... there are 10 different companies that are available ... check them out here :  https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free
