3 W4s - Filling Married Jointly

Hello,

I need assistance filling out W4s for my wife and I. I currently have 2 jobs and she has 1 , we're also expecting a child in September. Could someone assist with how our W4s should be setup to end up not owing money? We don't really care to receive a refund.

Hi @bilaladams90 , thanks for the question!  While I can not assist with helping you fill out your W-4, I can offer you a calculator where you can input some numbers and see how this will affect your year end tax situation.  There is a W-4 calculator in the link below as well as a TaxCaster calculator, these tools are great to help you prepare for the tax filing.

Awesome, if I'm looking to update my W4 before my child is born (due in September) when using calculators should I add that child as an dependent now?

@bilaladams90 If you decide to update now this may lower the amount of withholding and could affect your tax liability at the end of the year.  However, you can update it at anytime throughout the year, but it is suggested to do this within 10 days of your baby's arrival.  Congrats, this is just around the corner!
