2000204
I have been using the desktop version of Turbotax for more than 10 years. I started this year's return about a month ago, and noticed the prior year's return data is incorrect. This affects the carry over values for investments, taxes paid in 2020 for 2019 returns, and the tax summary and history. This has never happened before. Possibly it was caused by having multiple copies of my 2019 tax returns - one that I had started and abandoned, and one that I finally filed. Is there any way to correct this problem? Or do I have to start over again and redo my 2020 return?

Please refer to the following post from @VolvoGirl to start your return over:
If you want to delete a Desktop return. You can delete a tax return form within the TurboTax Windows Desktop Program on the very first screen after starting the program or go to File-Open.
Click on the large square icon representing the file you wish to delete (avoid clicking the blue "Continue" button). Then just hit your delete key and answer the prompt.
OR Start the program and on the first page click the blue Find A Tax File link at the bottom of the box. Then in the list that pops up, you can right-click on the file and choose delete.
Or you can delete it from Windows. The tax files end in .tax201y and should be in your Documents folder then in a Turbo Tax subfolder.
Or just start a new return, go to FILE - NEW, and ignore the wrong one.
Sorry yes you would have to start a new return to transfer from the right 2019 file.
