Printing Last Year's Return - Installed Turbotax - NOT Online

Windows 11 computer

Installed TurboTax 2025 on my computer, the install deleted TurboTax 2024

Imported my .tax2024 return and filed my 2025 return. Printed my 2025 return.

Realized that I needed a new printed copy of my 2024 taxes, but never created the .PDF files last year.

How can I print my 2024 taxes from my .tax2024 files?

Do I need to reinstall TurboTax 2024? and if so will that delete TurboTax 2025?

Transferring into a new return makes it seem to be a 2025 return and does not work to print ALL the 2024 files.

Annnd...Yes, you have to have the 2024 software installed to open that 2025 file to get it created as a PDF file and printed.

The data that transferred to the 2025 file was only what was needed to start 2025 taxes...it does not contain your entire 2024 tax set.

_______________

Installing 2025 does not uninstall 2024  (at least not in 99.5% of installations).  It's possible that the 2024 icon got deleted from your Desktop display, but the 2024 software should still be available using the main Windows program selections.

There is no reason to uninstall the older tax software...unless you are desperate for disk space.  I currently have all the way back to 2020 all installed and working on my W11 computer.

And YEAH....be vigilant about saving both the PDF, and .taxyyyy datafile copies of your tax returns every year right after the e-file has been accepted by Feds and State  .  And then ...Back those files up on a USB flashdrive...so many folks are desperate to find their files after their computer crashes, and it can happen to you too.
