No matter how I initiate the process, no matter where I initiate it from, I can't generate a PDF in TurboTax Deluxe 2022 Desktop. (This is on a Macbook Pro.)
TT processes my info and then just hangs with an infinite "spinning beachball of death."
I've reinstalled from my CD twice with no joy, so I"m guessing it's a bug.

Try switching data storage to the cloud. If you change to a pdf, then choose the destination as the downloads folder and generate the pdf, you should be able to print.
Thanks for responding.
I'm sorry, but I'm not following you...or you're not following me.
I can't generate a PDF on my desktop, so what do you suggest that I switch to the cloud?
Is it possible to run the app itself from the cloud?
Thanks, again.
I've seen others who used an Apple product become succesful by changing the destination of the pdf. Using the downloads folder as the destination, they were able to print it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I changed my destination from my desktop to my downloads folder and then to my documents folder, both with no joy. That was with command-control-S. If I try to generate a PDF with "Save For Your Records," I don't even get as far as selecting a destination. No matter what I try, I've invariably got to force quit turbotax.
I booted into Monterey to see if I could turn the trick there, but I got the same hang/force quit as I get in Ventura.
This is a serious problem which looks like it needs an engineering fix rather than a troubleshooting fix!

Problem restated: TurboTax Deluxe 2022 running on a MacBook Pro with macOS Ventura 13.2.1 would neither print nor generate a PDF no matter how I initiated the request. TT hung with an interminable beachball and required force-quitting via Activity Monitor. I even created a Monterey installation, but no luck with that either.
I finally called in and spoke to a tech who asked to share my screen, which I allowed. I showed him what was happening, and immediately after I force-quit and restarted TT (for close to the 50th time, mind you) the PDF functionality WORKED!
Was it the screen share? Or did I finally hit the magic number? Insights solicited.
I cannot see how the screen share fixed it, but happy to hear that it is finally fixed for you!
Please let us know if we can further assist you. @eqjones
Nor can I imagine the screen share having fixed it, so, after trying, every which way, an awful lot of times, I guess I hit the TurboTax Jackpot.
Thanks for suggesting that I call.
I was just poking around my plists (Don't ask!), and I found that a new TurboTax plist was created while I was speaking to the TT tech, right about the exact time that my problem resolved itself, and I wonder if it had anything to do with the resolution? Does it mean anything to you?
