I started my return using turbotax premium. How am I being charged almost $300 for "Assist Premium"?

 It depends. Assist Premium is an add‑on that includes live expert help, and it’s one of TurboTax’s most expensive tiers. You may have realized you enabled it, because the interface sometimes nudges you into “Expert Assist” while answering tax questions.

You may have clicked something like “Get help” or “Talk to an expert” once, and the system automatically upgraded you.

Once you accept an upgrade, you cannot remove it unless you start a brand‑new return. To clear and start over, go to.

• Tools
• Clear and Start Over.

This will let you start out for free again. Be sure to steer clear of the "Get help" or "Talk to an Expert" suggestions throughout your return.

thank you so much for the advice!  I actually found an option there to downgrade, so I didn't have to reenter all my information!
